Des Moines Pulse was founded in 2006 by Jay Matthews, a music fan and DSM-area resident with 12 years of radio experience.  In 2004, he launched one of Live365's Top Ten Alternative Radio Stations, Radio One

The goal of DMPulse is to support the music community in Central Iowa by introducing listeners to local music and artists playing in Central Iowa.
